Controlling Kulinga grass

The brown spots you see on tees and fairways are the result of an application to control Kulinga grass, a perennial weed.

New lights at the pool deck

Skip installed new sconce lights at the pool pergola.

Bunker work

The crew is redistributing sand around the bunker and adding sand where necessary. Work will continue over the next week.

Rain garden enhancements

Work contiues on the rain garden at the end of the tennis parking lot. Trees and additional perrenials will be added this month. Shrubs will probably be later in the season.

Tree planting

Trees are being planted this week. Several trees are already planted on 14 and 12. Additional plantings will include 2 & 5.

Greens aeration is complete. The greens have been brushed and rolled and are back in play.

We will be injecting sand into the greens today. Greens will be on temporary for most of the day.

The blooming forsythia marks the beginning of the golf season.

New trees for the golf course

Trees arrived today for the course. We will begin planting them next week.

Clubhouse grounds

The crew is begining to mulch the clubhouse grounds. This will take a week to 10 day to complete as we also work on the preparing the golf course.

Fairway aeration begins today

We will be core aeratiing fairways 3-7 today. It will take the entire day to aerify and clean up these holes.

Stream work

Carmen and John take Willow cuttings for planting along the stream banks. These cutting will root and help stabilize the stream banks.

The crew working bunkers for the weekend.

Greens aeration

The first phase of the greens aeration is completed. The second phase will be a sand injection which will take place on Tuesday, March 29th.

Back on temporary greens

We are back on temporary greens due to the snow. I would expect temps. to stay in effect for part or all of the weekend.

Deep-tine aerating fairways

we are deep-tine aerating fairways. We may begin core aerating some areas of the course next week depending on the weather.

Weekend course conditions

The greens are currently frozen and will begin to thaw tomorrow. The greens are vulnerable to root shear until completely thawed out. This process will take about 5 days with night time lows above 35 degrees. Therefore, it is expected the course will be open on all temporary greens throughout the weekend.

Proshop paver project

Work continues on the pavers outside the proshop area. This latest addition will complete the apron in front of the proshop door and the bagroom area.

Bees are doing well.

The crew clears the walk to the paddle courts.

Each paddle court takes 2 hours to clear the snow before the heaters can be used.

The loader moves snow at the paddle lot.

Plows clear the upper lots.

Finding the space to pile the snow is the most challenging task today.

Jesus, Gilberto and Jose completed the first phase of pavers outside the golf proshop.
