Lower lot tree work
Trees were removed at the lower lot for safety reasons. The fence will be replaced immediately and new trees added later in the spring. |

Seed preparation
The areas along the stream have been cut back due to an invasive weed population. The areas will be seeded with a more aggressive wildflower seed mix. |

Chipping area update
Grading of the chipping area will continue this week. We are planning to sod the entire area to bentgrass early next week. This will create some additional chipping space. |

Work begins on removal of chipping area bunker
We are filling the bunker in the middle of the chipping area. The ill-place bunker is a safety concern. Once filled the area will be sodded to creeping bentgrass and mowed the same as the rest of the chipping area. |

Aeration and topdessing continues
Greens aeration is finished. We will continue topdressing for the next few weeks to ensure the holes stay filled with sand. |

12th fairway continues to progress
We are pleased with the progress on the 12th fairway. You may play from the new areas however we ask that you keep carts off the new grass for the rest of the season. |
More topdressing
In is important to ensure the aerification holes stay fill to the tops. As the sand settles we will continue to add topdressing over the next 2 weeks. |

Greens aeration
Greens aeration started yesturday. Greens 1-7 and 11-16 are finished. The remaining greens we be completed next Monday October 12th. |

Dry conditions
We are no longer watering the driving range due to limited water supply. Other areas will be rationed if dry weather persist. Mowing schedules will be adjusted accordingly. |

12 fairway update
The new bentgrass on #12 fairway continues to fill in. Fertilizer will be applied once we get some rain and cooler temperatures. |

Bentgrass nursery update
Work continues on the bentgrass nursery. Seeding should be completed by the end of this week. The nursery will be used for any small repairs that may come up on greens, collars, tees or fairways. |
Environmental programs at work!
There are several Monarch caterpillar on the Swamp milkweed along the fence by the main entrance. These caterpillar should morph into beautiful Monarch butterflies and about 2 weeks. |
Mowing along the stream cooridor
Some areas along the stream corridor have been mowed down in order to help control the spread of Anthraxon hispidus, an invasive weed species. |

Refurbishing the bent grass nursery
The crew is reworking the putting green and fairway nursery. The old sod was removed. The surface will be leveled and seeded. We keep a nursery for any repairs that are necessary during the course of the year. |

The grass seed has started to germinate on the 12th fairway. It is important to keep cart traffic off the new seedlings. |

We are using a solid tine. After aerification the green is rolled and ready for play. This aerification helps to encourage new roots. |

Greens mower testing
We will be conducting test on greens mowers this week form the three leading equipment manufacturers. The test will take place for the entire week and mowers will be evaluated for performance based on playability and health of the turf. This information will help us make informed decisions when it comes time to replace the current greens mowers. |
